Dear participants of the WCCC 2022 in Fujairah,
The Congress time is coming in 3 days, and here we give some comments and answers to many questions we are getting.
Q: What is the Formal dress code for the Closing ceremony?
A: You can call it Semi-formal for Europeans.
For a man: a business suit or pants and jacket of different colors fitting together, a shirt with or without a tie.
Not allowed: jeans and t-shirt / polo.
For a woman: a business suit or pants / skirt /dress with a jacket fitting together. The skirt or dress should cover the knees.
Not allowed: short skirts or dresses, opened shoulders.
Q: What is a dress code for chess tournaments?
A: No dress code is announced, but we advice all participants to respect the organizers and to avoid wearing sport cloth, t-shirts, shorts, short skirts. The same time, please note that while the temperature outside is about +30C, it is rather cold in the solving hall, so a jacket would be good to have!
Not allowed: any cloth containing political messages!
Q: What type of adapter do I need?
A: For all places within UAE the associated plug type is G, which is the plug that has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern. UAE operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
Q: What is the temperature in UAE?
A: About +30-+32C during the day, and about +25C during the night. Sometimes windy. Air condition in all indoor places makes it rather cool, around +20C.
Q: If wearing mask is needed anywhere?
A: The masks are not obligatory anymore in UAE. Some people still using them, but this is a minority. Masks are not required for the solving or any other events within the Congress.
